Course Types

Four types of course/ service options are offered:

  1. Modular lesson classes
  2. Custom designed courses/ classes or practicals at schools
  3. Day outings and field trips   (excursions) + Future field camp
  4. Now newly available: Practical handwork kits with online downloadable lessons.

1. Modular  lesson classes

These are designed to be subject combinations of geography/ science/ history as well general knowledge and topical issues all presented as one. These classes run for 4 hours each, presented  once or twice monthly. (See Courses 2017) Generally the year one class would cover a broad overview of much of the geography/ science and history subject matter covered in grades 4 to 10. In addition many practical experiments and hand projects are added to widen the overall value of these classes.

As with all our homeschool activities, parents are encouraged to attend classes with their kids. This not only offers subject knowledge to the parents but also helps them to observe and support the progress of their kids in these classes

2. Custom designed courses/ classes or practicals at schools

These courses will be presented on request by, for example: a school , a group of home schoolers in an area outside the range of our venues or a group that requires a specific topic or content to be presented  at a venue of their choice.
The only requirement is that the group be of sufficient size to justify our trip out to them. For information or arrangements in this regard, please contact Barry Bryant directly.

3. Day outings and field trips ( excursions)

From time to time please consult the coming events page for details on one day family outings, example : meteorite impacts, geological sites around Johannesburg , museum and factory visits. Outings form a valuable practical component of our modular lessons as well as a wonderful opportunity for families to learn together.

4. Practical handwork kits with online downloadable lessons.
